LPG Gas Vessel Sikilele Steel

July 9, 2021

Location: Application at Sikelela Steel For destination in Roslyn

Project Owner:  EP Gas

Project Starting Date:  02/03/2020

Project Completion Date:  2017 12/03/2020

Background:

Our Corrosion protection system was selected by the client because this system provides a complete seal of the vessel against the elements, thereby ensuring that the vessel remains permanently corrosion free. The Visco-elastic Polyisobutene technology cold flows, thus providing a coating system that adheres at molecular level and remains permanently flexible ensuring that the coating remains completely sealed to protect the vessel, provide the highest level of safety and ensuring that the product stored within the vessel has no possibility of leakage over time. The outer mechanical elastomeric coating provides an extremely resilient outer mechanical protection which protects the corrosion protection layer beneath it, whilst also remaining flexible.

The vessel was coated in the fabrication facility at Sikelela Steel and once completed was transported to site where it was installed and mounded.

Application Details:

Details: 40metre X 5,5 metre LPG Gas Bullet.

Coating: Locally produced Elastomeric Spray coating, with plural feed coating machines

Vessel Surface preparation of the steel is to ST2; removal of surface defects, mill scale, oil residue. No specific profile is required

Corrosion protection layer applied to complete surface of the vessel including all ancillaries

Application of Elastomeric Outer mechanical protection layer, applied with Plural feed machinery

Detail of Vessel
